Purpose & Objectives
Overview
- The MFRFMA exists to support, encourage, and honor the military, their families, communities and associated organizations. By virtue of its independent status as a non-profit organization, it was designed to serve as an advocate for the members of the military, their families, communities and associated organizations.
- The continuing struggle to keep the support of military members and their families in the forefront is challenging. We support the Military, their families, communities and associated organizations. They rely on our support and face unique challenges.
- Your motivation for wanting to give back is your own; ours comes from family, friends and our love for this country.
- With your help, we will support the lives of thousands of members of the Military, their families, communities and associated organizations!

- July 3, 2013 –Corporation formed as Maryland National Guard Association -Non Profit
- Aug 27, 2013 –Founded as Maryland Charitable Corporation.
- Oct 2013 –Continue MMOC Mission
- Sept 2013 –Granted IRS 501 © Status
- May 2014 -Received IRS 501(c)(3) Determination Letter.
- Sept 2016 –Supported NGAUS 2016 Conference
- Nov 2017 –Changed name to Military Family Relief Fund Maryland
- Dec 2018 –Guidestar Platinum Level
- Dec 2018 –Changed Name to Military Family Relief Fund Mid Atlantic
- Feb 2019 –Sponsored JYLF motivational/suicide prevention speaker

FUTURE GOALS
- Continue outreach participation in unit MWR activities
- Increase donation programs; United Way, CFC, Legacy
- Grow working relationships with veteran support programs.
- Raise funds to increase permanent legacy scholarship fund.
- Expand local business partners; Orioles, Mission BBQ, and other corporations.
- Identify opportunities to provide suicide prevention training to educators and military members.
- Fundraise for MDANG Fallen Warrior Project
- Develop grant submission program
Governance
The organization is governed by a Board of Directors that consists of: The Chairman of the Board, President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer which shall constitute the Executive Committee of the Corporation. Additionally, there are up to nine (9) additional members. All board members serve a term of three years.
